I was reviewing a hospital UB04 form and noticed that the MS-DRG was placed in box 73 and not 71. I have seen this before and consider it somewhat common, however was wondering (any applicable state mandates and CMS form guidelines aside) is this somewhat common and has anyone seen it negatively affect billing?
