I'm not that familiar with the drug testing procedure codes, but, understood that the 80100 and 80100 codes were utilized for the initial test, and, then, if any of those were positive, the 80102 code, drug confirmation was utilized.

Is anyone familiar with utilizing the therapeutic drug assay codes for testing for drug screening? I was under the impression these were utilized to determine whether the dosage a patient was taking was "therapeutic" and sufficient to control the disease/problem the patient was intentionally taking the drugs for?

If anyone could confirm the above information or tell me the correct procedures for coding/billing for drug testing, I would appreciate it.
