Hi, the patient presented with Dupuytren's. Per documentation: "wide excision of the diseased fascia of the right palm was carried out, providing full release in the right middle and right fingers."
I am debating between 26121 and 26123, 26125 since the note did not mention flexor tendons at proximal interphalangeal joints are released. Per the lay description on EncoderPro: In 26121, the palmar fascia is removed. In 26123, part of the palmar fascia is removed and flexor tendons at proximal interphalangeal joints are released. Use 26125 to report additional digits.
I had a conversation with the provider in the past where he said the lay description is wrong that flexor tendons at PIP have to be released to bill for 26123.
Please help! TIA.
