Pt. has hx CAD & s/p stent. This admission a cardiac cath was done and PCI w another stent placement...final dx. AD in-stent restenosis.

Would pdx be 996.72 or would I use 414.02? thanks much!:)

There is always much discussion regarding the use of 996.72 for in-stent restenosis. That is because this is a mechanical complication code. However, your ICD-9 book does advise the use of this code for this condition. 414.02 should only be used for stenosis of a autologous vein graft.
