Wiki DX code for difficult cath placement

My doctor was called to the hospital to place a complex catheter. The staff at the hospital was having diffucilty so he came in and placed it. I'm having a hard time finding the dx code. I was leaning toward 996.31 but I don't think that is correct. Any thought??

Why was the hospital staff having difficulty? Was the urethra stenotic or was there a false passage?

I don't see how an ICD code would apply here. I would think it would be a CPT or HCPCS code with a modifier.
