This is for Radiology client.

If the indication states - Surgery or Intraoperative assessement, then what Dx can we code for this.
Findings states - Patient undergoing placement of total hip arthroplasty. The acetabular cup has been secured and the patient is being fit for the femorl stem prosthetic.
No other details are given.

you need to ask your client that reason for exam is not clear for what purpose they are doing hip replacement surgery bcoz according to ur document that only V43.64 Is only
possible.

I agree that V43.64 is the only ICD-9 code supported by your documentation, and point out that V43.64 is designated as not valid as primary dx for inpatients. You'll need signs, symptoms or confirmed applicable conditions for the primary diagnosis.
