Good morning all! I have a question regarding the diagnosis code for Thrombocytosis. This is a term that my docs frequently diagnose a patient with and I am wondering if I should use 238.71? The description of this code causes me to question whether or not I should use it. I would appreciate any advice and thank you in advance!

That is the correct code for that diagnosis, what bothers you about it? As long as that is what is documented in the chart note there is no other code to choose.
 
I guess for me it seems too definitive for such a generic word. Maybe I am just over-thinking. Thank you so much for your response.
