Can you code a dx on a claim from lab results that came back after the visit? :confused:
 
Do you mean can you bill for the results separately? If so, no you cannot.


If you mean can you hold a claim until after the Pathology report is received then yes. In fact, we wait for path before billing out excisions so we know which set of codes to use (benign = 11400-11446; malignant 11600-11646).
