I always have a hard time mapping these out, but can someone please tell me the ICD-10 code for:

Acute and Chronic Cholecystitis with cholesteroosis and cholelithiasis?

Will it be K80.10 or K80.12? Or is there another code for this?

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there!
These diagnoses come through very often here and I, myself, use two codes

K80.12 (calculus of gallbladder with acute and chronic cholecystitis without obstruction)
K82.4 (cholesterolosis of gallbladder)

I don't think there's a code that combines them all (I could be wrong, though, I have just never found one) so I think this would be most appropriate

Hi, I don't have the full pathology report but with the limited amount of information provided K80.12, however if there was obstruction K80.13 (please be sure to read the gross description). If you refer to your ICD-10 book on cholesterolisis of the gallbladder it states for K82.4 - "Excludes 1" cholesterolosis of gallbladder with cholecystitis (K81.-), and also cholesterolosis of gallbladder with cholelithiasis (K80.-). It would be inappropriate to bill the K82.4 with the necessary K80.1x code. Did you also the code the absence of gallbladder Z90.49?
Thanks for listening and have a great evening,
