Wiki Dx for physical status modifiers

HI! Fairly new to anesthesia coding and was looking for a little clarification on dxs for Physical Status Modifiers. To bill for the P3-P5 does the dx have to be different from the primary dx (an underlying condition)? I was trained that is does, but wanting to make sure that's correct?!! TIA!

Yes, that is correct. It can be most any underlying condition such as DM, Hypertention, Personal History, etc.
