Hello everyone,
The family practitioner I code for has a diagnosis of Dyshidrotic Nummular Dermatitis located on the leg. There are so many ways to go about getting a dermatitis code and none of them include both dyshidrotic or nummular, does anyone have an experience with dermatology? I'm afraid I'm just confusing myself more the more I look:confused:
 
I would code 1st - 705.81 Dyshydrotic dermatitis as it is more specific, of the sweat glands.

I would code 2nd - 692.9 for nummular as this is a NEC code as the cause is unknown.

Follow your index. It's fantastic that your practitioner is giving you such specific information, most do not.
