we had a patient in a car accident that was pregnant but was not hurt, she came in the office just to be checked out and had no complaints, she had an NST done to make sure the baby was ok and the doctor only put the E code on the charge sheet and when I asked the nurse if any other complaints were given she stated that was the only code they had ever used. no other complaints. any suggestions?

Well you know you cannot use the E code first listed. I would probably go with a V71.x code for observation and eval following accident, nothing found fist listed and then if documentation supports that nothing is affecting the management of the pregnancy then use V22.2 second and the E code for the accident 3rd.
