I was wondering if anyone knows if you could bill for an E/M within the global for a path that came back cancer? ie.. Patient comes in with a questionable microcalcification (path not determined--Benign vs Malignant) does the biopsy and the path comes back as malignant. The MD spends 30min-1 hour discussing plan of treatment with the patient and family--is there a way to bill for the E/M with the definitive malignant diagnosis?
