I was informed that we can bill for E&M and device checks and get paid within the 90 day global period following the implant and get paid even if the diagnosis is same as reason for implant. I checked Trailblazer for that info, but could not find anything. Is this true and where can I find that information?

Look at your 90 day global guidelines. Check out what is inlcuded in the global period and what is not. Medicare does allow for non related and related services if due to an underlying condition. You will need mod 24 on the E/M code and your documentation must support the additional service. If the claim was denied you must submit the documentation.
