If an NP needs to call their supervising doctor on the same DOS that they see the patient, can the doctor bill an interprofessional consultation code?
Can the NP count the call in their total time for the E/M?
 
That's not the intent of the interprofessional consultation codes. There's a lot of information with regards to how to use this code in your CPT book. But the NP can include the non-face to face time on the call within the E&M time.
