I am just getting started on my new coding job. One thing that I seem to be struggling with still is the level of E/M service. I have a couple of chart tools, but still just can't seem to get a grasp of it. Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations to shed some light on it for me? I need help! :eek:
 
Start by the cc then you have to determine problem focused or many problems, then you narrow it down to documentation and ROS to make your decision. There are alot of factors that go into choosing an E/M code. The best thing I can suggest is take a good look at the guidelines for the code and compare it to the documentation. It takes practice but when you know what to look for it gets easier along the way. ;)
