We see in the AMA guideline that for E&M leveling for Data that a test for psychometric can be counted. There is another section that states "that are not reported separately and interpretation of tests not reported separately."

In the case of the PHQ9, this screening can be reported through a HCPCS code G8431 or G8510 for the screening. So based on the definition, are we correct to not count this screening/test when reviewing for data to be reviewed and analyzed?

What about the GAD-7? This could be billed under 96127. So this would not be included either?

Noridian MAC states that these tests can be considered for E&M leveling....so I am getting a little confused on the "not reported separately."

If your doc is performing & billing for those codes, then you cannot count, as the order and the interp are counted under that code. If your doc is not billing for those codes, then you can count the order/review.
