If a patient was in ambulatory for a surgery and held overnite and the next morning the family physician not the surgeon sees the patient and does an exam, reviewed labs, starts estrogen and discharges the patient can we bill for this services. Cannot bill a D/C from observation as not in observation. Can we bill at outpatient visit (ex: 99213) or is this an unbillable service. Please advise. Thanks.
