As a new patient I was seen by the PA for the first two visits. For my third visit I insisted on seeing the doctor(dermatologist). He advised patch test to determine the allergies but said "since today is Thursday you will have to come back on Monday to have the patch applied". On Monday the PA walked in and just made small talk, asked how was I doing.etc and then the tech applied the patch on my back. Does this justify a level three visit? I definitely think NOT.
I went in specifically to have the patch put on, period. I voiced my opinion to them but the office manager thinks they are doing the right thing. Please give ur input.

As a CEMC & CPMA, I think you already know the answer ;) that doesn't even justify a 99211. You can always just file an appeal with your insurance company.
