We have a patient who was seen for shoulder pain & sore rectal area. The patient was given a script for rectal suppositories. Her shoulder was injected and an anoscopic exam was performed. The doctor wants to bill a 99213, procedure code for shoulder injection and anoscopic procedure code. Can a office visit be charged also, because the office visit would be related to the two procedure codes. Please advise. Thanks.

Yes, all three codes can be billed. Don't forget your modifier on the E/M code (25). Be sure the documentation supports a level 3 exam and each of the surgical procedures. Hope this helps
