If you have two or more stable chronic diseases and your provider says to continue the medications that the patient is on; do you consider this prescription management? Is this a 99214? Everyone always has their own opionions and I am always going back and forth on this one. Is there a right or wrong answer to this?

Yes. continue medications, increase or decrease in medications is considered prescription management and with 2 or more stable chronic conditions 99214 would be appropriate.

Yes. That is a good thing. That means they are being compliant with their meds and they are working as they should. There are no exacerbations that require adjusting the medication.

I agree with the excellent comments made above. 99214 would be the correct code for the visit.
