Wiki E/M visit, then pt admitted to hospital

I know the rule but here's a little twist: Patient is in our clinic and has an extensive visit with the doc. The doc tells the patient that she needs to go the the hospital and be admitted. So another doc will actually admit this patient to the hospital. Since my doc is not admitting the patient to the hospital, so can't my doc bill for her services?
