Can an E/M visit be billed if pt here only to meet MD & has no complaints?

DO have SF HPI & Exam with no other services.

Physician meet and greets are not billable. There needs to be medical necessity to support the E&M and if there is no complaint or chronic condition evaluated at the encounter there is no medical decision making driving the level. Especially, Medicare and Medicaid.

The only way you can get an E/M code is if all three components are met: History, Exam, & Medical Decision Making. Remeber to S.O.A.P. out or abstract case file to make your decision. I hope this helps you as well:)
