Good Afternoon

When is it appropriate to bill a regular E/M code (999213) instead of a psychotherapy visit (90832)

I have seen all our psych visits coded as E/M levels until recently I saw 90832 and when I questioned it, I was told it had to do with time.

Does anybody have information on this?

These are being billed to Medicaid
