Hello,
Pt presents to ER w/food impaction, pt is seen by ER MD. My GI MD is requested to consult, he does consult w/pt (pt is established w/GI MD) in the ER and subsequently performs EGD w/foreign body removal. Can my GI MD charge for E&M as well and the procedure?
If so would this be an ER charge or Established pt office or other out pt?
Any help is appreciated.
