Can you code E11.40 and G63 on the same Date of service if both are supported? Thank you for your input :)

What other condition is the underlying cause of the polyneuropathy?

What support is there for diabetic neuropathy, if the patient has polyneuropathy due to another condition?

I'd be hesitant to use both codes together, unless the provider had extremely clear documentation delineating both forms of neuropathy as co-existing.

The Excludes1 code for G63 only references the .42 (polyneuropathy) complication of diabetes, so technically I guess E11.40 and G63 could be used at the same time.
