I'm coding for an internal medicine doctor who does ekg in his office. He says he did a 12 lead rhytym strip and wants to use 93042. Is this the right code or is it part of 93000?

I would agree to 93000 if both the professional and technical components are performed by him. However, 93042 "Rhythm ECG, 1-3 leads; interpretation and report only" seems to parallel 93010"Electrocardiogram, routine ECG with at least 12 leads; interpretation and report only." 93042 is for only 1-3 leads.... Just my opinnion. :)
