Patient presents for Wearable ECG Rhythm Monitoring (global billing cpt 93230)The monitor is not hospital owned equipment

Hospital employed staff connect the monitor, transmit a sample recording, and disconnect the monitor when testing is complete. The hospital charges CPT 93231 for this

Is anyone aware of any guidance that would confirm that the hospital doesn't have to own the equipment in order to bill CPT 93231? I checked the appropriate Medicare LCD's and even attempted a Google search and can't find anything:eek:
