Upon coding for ECMO management services for the cardiologist, have any of you encounter with Medicare the issue of the CPT for the professional has been allowed to be used by the facility because there isn't a facility code? Furthermore, the cardiologist is being told that he can only bill out for subsequent hospital visit instead of getting credit for ECMO management which requires the physician to be on call for 24hrs until pt is off service.
