My team is debating the correct date to bill for the Professional Services provided by the ED Providers. Is it the date the patient presented at triage, or the date the patient was assigned a bed and a provider in the ED - the date the provider began charting? Example: Pt presented to triage on 11/20/22 at 11:20pm, the pt was triaged and sent back to the waiting room. The pt was bedded and provider assigned on 11/21/22 at 4:02am and the provider began charting 11/21/22 at 4:32am. The facility charge begins on 11/20/22, but should the professional charge be assigned 11/20/22 or 11/21/22 DOS?
