Hi!

When we bill out ED levels for facility and profee and they happen to be the same level for both, their being kicked back as duplicates. Should I be putting a modifier on one? If so, which one facility or profee and where can I find documentation.

if you are billing both on the UB (electronic equivalent) then you need to ask the payer if the prefer the profee to be billed as a 1500 (electronic equivalent) .. Some payers do prefer this rather than the use of the 981 rev code for the physician.
