Looking for guidelines.....When patients in the ED department are being placed into Observation, what discharge status is used on the ED visit?
 
Hi. Isn't that just a transfer of care from ER to Obs Admit? I don't think it is appropriate to report ER D/C. The Admitting Obs provider will be the only only who can report D/C 99217.
