Wiki ED to Observation infusions NEED HELP

When a patient comes into ED has IVP, or infusion, then becomes Observation on a different day and has IVP or infusion, would you code the IVP/infusion as an initial for each different date or do you code each additional IVP /infusion and treat it as per encounter?
