Hi, can anyone clarify for me? New coder that was put into OB/GYN!! A day 7 post partum presented to ED for gestational HTN. Would that be considered part of the global package? If not, what E/M code would be used?? She was discharged same day with meds. Follow up to be done at her clinic.

An ED visit due to HTN is not part of routine global maternity care and may be billed separately. You would use an E&M code from the appropriate section based on the patient's registration status. Whether she was ED, admitted, observation, etc. It sounds like you are stating she was an ED patient, so 99281-99285 series of codes, with modifier -24. All this is assuming you are billing for the provider/practice that also provided global maternity.
