EGD (w symptoms) with colonoscopy screening. Pls help :)

Patient in ASU for EGD secondary GERD then doctor writes also for a colon screening.
Gastritis was found on EGD and hemorrhoids on colonoscopy.

I know not to use Z1211 screening as a PDX in this case, but should it be listed as a secondary?
What if no hemorrhoids were found on colonoscopy, then would Z12.11 be listed as a secondary?

Why wouldn't you use the Z12.11 for PDX for the colon? Did they remove the hemorrhoids while doing the colon? If not then I would still keep it as a screening as the primary reason for the colonoscopy was screening and nothing pre-cancerous was found to change it to diagnostic.

Our providers routinely do a screening colon with EGD if the patient is due for one. Much more cost effective to get them both done instead of getting one done and then a month or two later doing the colonoscopy.
