I work in a Rural Health Clinic in MT. The clinic is associated with a Critical Access Hospital (CAH). Our Providers order EKGs that are done on an Out Patient basis in the CAH and then receive the report to interpret. I am trying to determine how to bill for the interpretation. Should this be coded to the clinic or the CAH as outpatient??? My confusion comes in determining the place of the interpretation. The CAH bills for the actual test. Our Providers work in both the clinic and CAH.
