:confused:Have any of your docs done this and what code(s) did you use? The diagnosis is aortomegaly. I might be making this harder than it is, but I wanted to get someone else's input. Thanks
 
When my physicians refer to the elephant trunk technique, they are replacing the aortic arch. Is that what your surgeon did? I believe the elephant trunk is actually a graft. The code for this is 33870. This is only for the arch replacement. If the ascending aorta is done as well, you would code that separately (33860-33863).
