I work for a large medical foundation in the Compliance Dept. Sometimes we hire contractors to do some of our education. When they do their provider education they use 97 guidelines mainly becase it's easier to teach. However additionally to the ease they have also indicated that CMS is considering eliminating the 95 guidelines all together. Has anyone else heard about this consideration?
 
actually is has been "under consideration" for many years but not just the elimination of the 95 but also the 97. The only problem is no one can agree on what would be better. If you search the web you will see many newer versions but all draft and none adopted. We can just keep a watchful eye out, as sooner or later they will find one that works.
