Can anybody tell is we consider cheif complaint as a part of HPI or not? And why?

There are four elements of History: Chief complaint, History of Present Illness, Review of Systems, and Past, Family or Social History. The chief complaint is the patient's current complaint in patient's own words. It must be documented in the medical record for each encounter.
