Hello,
I am needing some help finding information on this subject.
We are looking thoroughly through the new claim form information for HCFA 02/12 and I have been asked if we should be marking Y in the EMG box for any claims that have 99140 marked.

I know this is needed for Medicaid Part E claims for payment but I am not certain it is required for all insurances.

For Medicare claims that my anesthesia providers mark "Emergency" on the claim but since we cannot mark 99140 for this would it be appropriate to still mark the EMG box with "Y"?

Please help! Need this info straightened out.
