Wiki Employment Search before Certification?

I recently completed course but cannot take my CPC certification test until September. Is there a point in searching for employment now or should I wait? It seems as though even people with their certifications are not eligible for a lot of employment opportunities due to lack of experience which is a little discouraging to be honest.
