Has anyone run across this procedure before? The provider is billing 61711 which is an anastomosis, which is incorrect because they performed the encephaloduro-synangiosis. Supercoder states there is no code for this procedure and should be billed as 64999. However this post was about three years ago.

One of my surgeons performed this once a couple years ago, and I couldn't find a specific code for it either...we went with 64999. I do remember seeing the Supercoder article you're referring to, and also read through a few others, that all confirmed using the unlisted code. I don't think there's any new codes for it yet.
