If the physician is concerned the stent may be too short and applies an extender can we still bill separately? Does the note have to say endoleak to justify medical necessity for the extender 34825?
 
depends on the product, per Dr. Z if it is designed to be deployed with extension limbs then they are not separately reportable. his rule of thumb is if the extension goes past the hypogastric because typically when they deploy the extensions they stop just short of the hypogastric take off.
