I have a vascular surgeon who placed an EKOS catheter in an occluded carotid-to-brachial artery bypass graft. Additionally, he placed and deployed a Spider wire distal protection device at the level of teh internal carotid artery before placing the EKOS catheter. After hooking up the EKOS catheter and confirming function, he removed the distal protection device. Can the placement of the distal protection device be coded? If so, where would I find the code? I can only find information for a distal protection device in combination with stenting.
