One of my providers is asking if we can bill for the patient education on the use of an Epi Pen (patient has never used one and received a rx for one today). Does anyone bill for the patient education? If so, what code are you using?

Thank you!

I would think that the education for how to use an Epi Pen would be included in the E/M. Same as educating a patient about how to take any other rx and the side effects and alternative options.
