Hi, I have a couple of questions I hope someone can help me out on...or direct me where I can find the answer. If a provider sees a pt in the ER, then pt is admitted to observation....and the provider sees the pt again at some point during the obs visit...can you bill both of those? they would be during the same 24 hr period.

Also, similiar situation w/an ER visit that turned into an inpt admission. Would you code the ER visit or just the initial inpt visit? AND....if the pt is then seen in the office after discharge, can the provider charge a new pt E&M? (since they saw them in the hospital) Thanks for any insight!
