I have had a practice ask, "If the patient is an existing patient but has not been seen within the past three years, would it be 3 calendar years or need to be 3 years to the date of last visit in order to charge a new patient visit."

My answer is 3 years to the date, other wise the visits are less than 3 years apart.

Am I wrong?
