My doc has asked if there is a code to use for 'ex-vivo lung perfusion.' This was performed during a bilateral lung transplant. He states it added 5 hours to the OR time and he monitored the donor lungs the whole time. I have googled and searched and do not think it can be coded but wanted to check to see if anyone else had any suggestions or idea's on this and if it could be coded by the surgeon.
