The umbilicus was explored. a clamp was used to try to reach the depths of the umbilicus and try to evert it. It was found that the umbilicus was quite deept. Part of the initial abominal prep was to cleanse the stool out of the umbilicus. It was found the depts of the umbilicus had hair, lint and material that appeared to be consistent with the contrast from the previous fistulogram. This was cleansed from out of the wound. Sims retractors were placed. Allis clamp were used as needed to hold the depths of the umbilicus up to the surface. NO opening consistent with a fisutla was found. the depths of the umbilicus were probed with different-size probes of lacrimal duct probes. Again no opening was found. the sidewalls of the umbilicus were carefully inspected and again no openings consistent with a fistula were seen.

The codes that I am thinking are: 49580 OR 49999

Doesn't really sound like a procedure was done but more of an E/M. From what I've gather, the patient is obese, dr just did an extensive cleaning of the belly button and put a scope in to check for fistula.

Good luck!
