Hello, question would I also need another cpt for the the skin that was excised? Maybe Cpt 11441 also needed ? I currently have these codes for this procedure. Thank you!
Location: Left ear lobe
Size: 8 mm
PREOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Piercing hole stretched out
POSTOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Same
OPERATIVE PROCEDURE: Excision ear piercing scar revision
DESCRIPTION OF PROCEDURE: The area was anesthetized with 1% Lidocaine with 1:100,000 (0.7 ml) Epinephrine injected around the lesion. The area was prepped and draped in standard sterile fashion. Using a #15 blade, skin of the piercing track was excised in its entirety circumferentially, leaving no skin within the track. This left a total defect of 1 cm x 2 mm. Undermining was achieved and closure was obtained with 4-0 chromic deep, 5-0 fast on the skin sutures. The patient tolerated the procedure well and was discharged ambulatory.
